The high density pvc plastic used to form the body of thermaldry flooring tiles is strong durable and immune to moisture damage. I believe this is the best thing to do. Water evaporating from surfaces lowers temperatures. In fact the thermaldry underlayment system creates a moisture and thermal barrier to keep your finished flooring dry and comfortable at least 8 10 degrees warmer than the concrete surface.

The channels in the bottom of thermaldry tiles provide an insulating barrier of air between the concrete and any wood or other floor placed atop the thermaldry subfloor.
